Thank you for these freeing thoughts that "both can be true"
I can't believe how often you put into words things that are in my own mind as well--such as how we can appreciate someone and be frustrated by them at the same time. We can keep the frustration to ourselves and share the appreciation without being dishonest, but sometimes it's hard to feel honest when we cover some of our conflicting feelings. It's comforting that learning to accept those conflicting emotions can come with experience and age, and that we can still choose to speak kindly regardless what our feelings are. The way you chose to speak honestly but lovingly to your husband was an example to me! Thank you for sharing ways to use words kindly, even when we are experiencing conflicting emotions!
